In the Jewish and Christian traditions, Jerusalem is conceived as a duality of the ephemeral and the Divine. There is "Jerusalem of Heaven" and "Jerusalem of Earth" - Yerushalaim Shel Maala" and "Yerushalaim Shel Mata", "Civitate Dei" and "Civitate Mundo".  For us artists this means that this evanescent and elusive virtual plane which separates and at the same time connects essentially contrasting worlds is where art feels at home.
.
This is probably what attracted to Jerusalem the various members of "Jerusalmix", who have origins in different countries and cultures: Hedi Tarjan and Uri Asaf from Hungary, Roger Ychai from France, Gina Rotem from Poland, Michael Barnea from Rumania, Anatoli Basin from Russia, and the native-born Aviad Kipnis (who has immigrant parents from Afganistan and Germany), Raya Zmora, Lilith Matan, Esti Haim, and Anat Mazor Baz.
