They arrived to Jerusalem in the seventies and the eighties. H.Tarjan as a friend of R.Ychai invited him to the Musrara Painting studio. A.Basin as teacher, arrived to this place in 1991. Their collaboration created a group of students around them.

A.Basin`s basic line goes back to old Russian (not golden) icons (Rublyov) and from here to Matisse by the Venetian painters (Giorgione, Titian) as well as Velazquez who unlike Florentine paintings, emphasized color.

R.Ychai`s way led him from classical guitar to the Persian Zarb. He began to paint only in Israel, mostly as an outburst of an inner vision.

H.Tarjan`s line goes from Giotto to contemporary London School (Kossoff and Auerbach), her basic attitude couldby defined as Middle European. She defines her painting as “figuration”.
