A.Basin,
R.Ychai, and H.Tarjan
came to Jerusalem between 1970-1980 from St.Petersburg, Paris and Budapest,
respectively. They have met in 1991 in Artist`s Studio of Musrara (Ayin
Het). A.Basin`s art and teaching
acted as a kind of revelation for both H.Tarjan
and R.Ychai and created a turning
point in their evolution. Since then they meet once a week in the Ayin
Het for common work and interaction. In spite of the differences in their
way of expression, they speak a common language.

They also exhibited together
in 1995 in the Artist`s House in Jerusalem. The recent exhibition presents
paintings originating from the last six years. Anatoly Basin
and Hedi Tarjan studied and worked
in framework of the European tradition, they became artists respectively
in St. Petersburg and Budapest. Roger Ychai
was born in Oran and was brought up in Paris mainly as a musician. |
